Admission to any course is for one academic year only.
Students will be admitted to the higher class on the basis of a fresh application for admission, taking into account their progress in studies, regularity of attendance, conduct and behavior during the previous year.
Those who have passed the Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination, or any other examination recognized by the Board as equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the two-year Pre-University Course.
General Rules and Regulations
- Regular classes are from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- A bell is given 5 minutes before each lecture. The students should get into their respective class rooms. After the second bell, students are expected to stand and wish when the lecturer enters the class.
- Before the commencement of the first lecture, all students should stand and pray in silence.
- Attendance will be taken at the commencement of every lecture. Students should stand and answer their roll call when their name or roll number is called out.
- Punctuality and discipline in college premises will be strictly followed. Students should be in class, by 8.15 am. Late comers will not be allowed to enter class without a note from the Principal. During the class students cannot change their place or leave the class without the permission of the concerned lecturer.
- Students requiring leave must apply for the same. Leave may be granted for genuine reasons only. A note justifying unforeseen leave, duly signed by parent or guardian or warden must be produced before entering class. Medical Certificate is mandatory when a student is absent for more than 3 days due to illness.
- As per the govt order , a minimum of 75% attendance per subject is compulsory. Students who have less than 75% attendance in any subject will not be allowed to take the Annual Board Exam.
- Please note that a medical certificate is mandatory if a student is absent continuously for more than 10 days, due to illness
- Serious note will be taken if a student is absent without prior permission for the college examinations or at the re-opening of classes after a vacation. If a student is ill during this period, parents have to inform the college authorities about the absence of their ward on the day of the examination itself. And later produce a medical certificate. The college reserves the right to reject or cancel any leave applied for or granted.
- The college takes note of serious misbehavior, insubordination, habitual tardiness, irregular work habits, inattention in class, late coming and obscenity which are punishable by temporary or permanent dismissal. Minor offences are punishable by a fine or loss of attendance.
- The college is not responsible for the misconduct of its students outside its premises. However, it will take strict note of serious misconduct of its students that may cause damage to the college reputation. If found guilty, the misconduct shall be punishable according to the gravity of the offence.
- Students should possess the college identity card and produce it whenever asked for.
- Internal assessment is part of the curriculum. Student’s performance and growth will be assessed through regular weekly and monthly tests. As per the PU Board norms 3 unit test, two terminal exams and one preparatory exam shall be conducted.
- 1st Year student, who is caught for malpractice during exams will not be promoted to 2nd year and 2nd year student will not be allowed to appear for Final Exam.
- Students using tobacco or consuming alcohol of any form in the college premises will be dismissed from college.
- Personal belongings, books, umbrellas should have a mark of identification of its owner. All lost or found property should be brought to the college office.

- Picnics and educational tours may be organized with the prior permission of the Principal. Students need to get written permission from their parents to take part in such events.
- Any political agitation directed against the authority of Government will not be allowed. Participation in such activity or any other public movement without the permission of the college authorities will be considered illegal.
- Students are expected to use the classroom furniture with care. Scribbling on the walls, sketching on desks or benches will be considered serious offence. A very serious cognizance will be taken if any student is found chewing gum and sticking it on the furniture or throwing it in the classroom. Any disobedience to this rule will be considered serious misconduct and suitable action will be taken.
Special Rules to Be Followed
- Ragging Is a major punishable offence. Hence ragging, or indulging in it whether ‘serious’ or ‘friendly’ will not be tolerated. Encouragement of ragging is also punishable. Those found indulging in ragging will face dismissal from college and no excuse or reasoning is accepted in this regard.
- Students are not allowed to organize picnics, get – together, farewell parties or any such events, within or outside the campus without prior permission from the Principal. Overnight picnics are strictly not allowed. Any student violating these rules will have to face very strict disciplinary action.
- Students should strictly follow the Dress Code. Students should wear modest and decent clothes to college. Shabby and unkempt appearance will be rebuked and ask to leave the campus.
- In order to qualify for the PU examination, students must compulsorily have a minimum 75% attendance in each subject. Hall tickets to the board exams can be withheld from students who lack minimum attendance.
- If you do not show adequate progress in studies, you will not be permitted to attempt the Final Examinations.
- Marks of every exam will be either sent by post or handed over to the parents in person.
- Students are to follow the dress code and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance.
- Students are expected to treat all staff and other students with respect. Swearing and offensive language is unacceptable.
- Bullying or ragging is unacceptable.
- Students must behave with courtesy and in a manner that reflects well on the College.
- Students should be regular in attendance, tests and exams. If not, they will not be given permission to attend the final exams.
- Parents, please note that a student is admitted to the College for one year only.
- He/She will be re-admitted only if the College authorities are satisfied with his/her progress.
Personal Integrity
This is expected of all students who attend Shree Bharathi Group of institutions. They should be honest and forthright in their dealings with others. Lying is not acceptable. Students found guilty of lying or falsifying official documents, especially to avoid disciplinary action, will be liable for suspension.
